PREVIEW: SUPERFINALS 2018 - THE INTERGALACTIC RIDER LINE UP CONFIRMED
What an international line up of exciting talent!
The list of Pro Riders getting ready to battle it out for the title deciding SuperFinals in Canary Wharf on 16th August is possibly the most exciting collection of names ever!
CANARY WHARF HOSTS THE 2018 INSYNC STREETVELODROME SUPERFINALS
WHAT ARE THE SUPERFINALS?
They are the biggest race in our season. Everything will come down to the final 3 lap sprint races which decide the Male and Female Viking Pro Series champions for 2018.
Uniquely all competitors in the Series compete on identical Viking Urban Myth single speed bikes. So the battle is all about rider talent.
The racing is fast and furious with plenty of close finishes, spills and thrills expected along the way.
PUSHING THE LIMITS - THE JOHNSON LINE DENOTES THE TRACK LIMITS, RIDERS GET DISQUALIFIED IF THEY GO OVER THE LINE.
Riders line up in Olympic-style head to head pursuit races held over three scintillating laps around the steeply banked corners of the Insync StreetVelodrome course.
Ride too fast into the corners and you risk crashing out of the competition. Go too slow and your opponent will win. Its that simple.
HOW DID WE GET HERE?
The Pro Riders have been competing in races held across the UK to decide the top seeding for the championship deciding SuperFinals.
Those riders who finished well in the earlier races, held in Dublin and Wigan, are awarded with a top seeding for the big showdown. This means they don't enter the competition until the quarter finals stage.
JESS STONE WINS IN ROUND 3 BEATING UCI BMX CHAMP CHARLOTTE GREEN
The other riders will have a much harder route to top. First they have to qualify to race during the Viking Pro Series time trials held at 1pm on race day. The top riders will go through, with their seeding based on their time trial results.
Then they will have to battle it out in win or be eliminated head to head races to get to the quarter finals. Once there they'll face the best riders of the 2018 Viking Pro Series, each one hungry to win the outright title.
WHO WILL BE RACING?
In the Male category we have:
SAM REYNOLDS MAKES HIS VIKING PRO SERIES DEBUT
