Two time Italian national downhill champion and 2016 European Champion Veronika Widmann from Bolzano, Italy will be competing in the 2017 StreetVelodrome Series.
The Series kicks off in Dublin City Centre on 11 June and will see the most competitive field of pro riders in StreetVelodrome history lining up to do battle on the pop up banked track.
We caught up with Veronika to find out a little bit more about this superstar of women's downhill racing.
"I started riding as a young girl in 2005 in cross country. I discovered Downhill racing in 2012 and have enjoyed the excitement of racing down some the most challenging hills in the world. I am twice Italian national champion and currently the European champion. My belief is to always discover new things in life and always give the best you can. I am really excited to be part of the StreetVelodrome TV Series. I have seen it on Italian television on the Bike Channel and it looks great fun".
Veronika will be adding to what is quickly becoming an international line up for 2017 with Canadian BMX freestyler Kara Gaetz Bruce confirmed as joining the Series too.
Organisers of this year's tour have got more exciting pro rider news just itching to be made public...So stay tuned.
