CANADIAN FREESTYLER JOINS STREETVELODROME TV SERIES

The StreetVelodrome TV Series will be welcoming a number of exciting new pro riders to the 2017 tour.

The first to be announced will be Canadian freestyle BMX rider Kara Gaetz-Bruce.

KARA - JOINS THE SUFFOLK SAINTS FOR THE 2017 TV SERIES

Kara was born in Canada but now spends half her time in the UK. She fell in love with cycling and the various styles available whilst being based here. She is predominantly a freestyle BMX rider, comfortable on vert ramps, dirt jumps and yes…she can backflip!

She started competing in Freestyle BMX recently and is a trailblazer for women wanting to try freestyle and other exciting forms of cycle sport. If you see her at a competition, you bet she’s the one dancing and getting everyone revved up. For Kara winning counts the most - but enjoying your sport is even more important!

Her specialism is technical tricks using core body balance and positioning on the bike which could be an immense advantage in StreetVelodrome racing, as maintaining bike control as well as speed is paramount!

SUFFOLK SAINTS - 5TH IN 2016 AIMING FOR BETTER IN 2017

Kara will be racing for the Suffolk Saints and partnering 2015 race winner Johnny Stockwell. The Saints finished 5th in last year's series with just one gold medal, thanks to their amateur female rider Anita Bickers who won the national amateur title. With Kara joining the team they will be hoping to challenge for the top of the medal table in 2017.

Their home event will be at Newmarket on Saturday 8th July.
