Meet Tom Pidcock. This amazing 17 year old has just won the junior World cyclocross champs in Bieles, Luxembourg.

And that is just a few months after winning the European title in France.

But it was in Stockton-on-Tees back in 2014 when we first met Tom. He took part in our free amateur rider qualifying session in a bid to win a race place in our televised Pro/Am Series.

At just 14 years old Tom was notably faster than anyone else in his NexGen age category (for 12 to 16 year olds) and instead raced alongside the adult amateurs and pros in the televised event.

Tom raced his way to the finals and got to race against freestyle BMX star Dave Johnson.

The StreetVelodrome Kids Series creates an inspirational show case for young up and coming cycling talent at each round of the Series. The Sharks v Tigers competition sees 3 to 11 year olds racing in fun head to head pursuit races. While the NexGen Series for 12 to 16 year olds sees the Tom Pidcocks of the future battling it out for top honours.

The Kids Series will be launching the 2017 season at the London Bike Show on 18th Feb. Will we find the next big name of the future? We can't wait to find out.
