PREVIEW: SUPERFINALS - TEAM LONDON

Team London are in effect the defending team in 2016. The duo of Anna and Dave have won the series outright for the passed two years running.

The team have had some up and down results. Dave missed out on gold in Round 1 at Eden Project, but recovered to win in Round 2 Hillingdon, Round 4 Ballyclare, Round 5 Stockton and Round 7 Bury St Edmunds. He notoriously takes his early heats easy which would explain why the team are not doing better in the Catch Trophy.

Anna has been almost consistently the second place rider to Jess Stone. However in Round 6 Worthing she failed to make the podium having been out performed by Rowena (South Coast Rollers) and Jessica (Angels of the North).

The team has shown they are consistent by leading the Most Wins Trophy with 27 points. But with double the usual amount of points available (due the amateur rider results counting) can the team hold on to their lead and prevent Team Cornwall doing the triple?

Thanks to their high number of silver medals all the team need to do is draw with Team Cornwall on golds in order to win the Series. They have a very good chance of winning gold in the Pro Mens category thanks to Dave, and with defending 2015 amateur male champion Mark Bryant riding for the team, that could result in two precious golds in the bag already, closing the gap to Team Cornwall to just 1 gold.

Can Anna overcome Jess's seemingly unstoppable romp to gold this year? Can Team London's amateur female win it for the team? We just won't know until the final race of the Series.

The SuperFinals will be held in Green Park, Central London as part of Prudential RideLondon. Amateur Qualifying starts at 9.30. Pro Qualifying starts at 12pm. The racing starts at 2pm with the final podium celebrations expected around 3.30pm.

Will it be Team Cornwall on the top step of the podium?
