SUFFOLK SAINTS GEAR UP FOR HOME LEG

Suffolk Saints duo Tanya Griffiths and John Stockwell will be hoping for plenty of home support as the UK StreetVelodrome Series starts its final leg with two back to back events in the county. And local amateur riders will have their chance to shine too.

The seaside town of Lowestoft, the UK's most easterly town, will play host to two days of accessible cycle sport on 9th and 10th July as the Suffolk Saints help 100's of locals to take to the track for free.

There is plenty planned for the two days of on track action held right in the heart of the town in London Road North. Fun races, stalls and family attractions there will be something for everyone.

All those looking to get the chance to ride the StreetVelodrome will benefit from the expert guidance provided by Pro Riders Tanya and John. The event is 100% free with all equipment provided.

The following weekend (15th to 17th July) the UK StreetVelodrome Series rolls into Charter Square, Bury St Edmunds for Round 7 of the nationwide tour. It will be the first StreetVelodrome event held on cobbles which will add a huge amount of uncertainty over the results.

This is good news for the Suffolk Saints who so far this Series have struggled to get on to the medal table. John has missed out on Bronze three times, whilst Tanya has yet to make it to a semi final.

The cobbles of Charter Square could really shake up the order on Sunday 17th July, just prior to the all important SuperFinals, which this year are being held in front of Buckingham Palace on 30th July.

The three team competitions are all still up for grabs. Team Cornwall lead the medal table by 3 golds, with six still available (four on SuperFinals day). The team also lead the Catch Trophy and have a joint lead in the Most Wins Trophy with Team London.

But its not just about the Pro Riders. Local amateur riders are invited to take part in each round of the Series too. The winning amateur riders at each round (one male and one female) get invited to race at the SuperFinals, joining their Pro Rider teammates to represent the Suffolk Saints.

Who will make the grade? Can Suffolk Saints turn their fortune around on the cobbles? We can't wait to find out.
