Team Quella Do The 'Treble'

Team Quella achieved the Treble in the 2015 ASDA StreetVelodrome SuperFinals managing to not only win the Series Champions title, but the Most Catches and Most Wins Trophies too.

The picture above shows the team celebrating their victory with Pro riders Anna Glowinski and Dave Johnson holding the winners trophy, which was presented to them by Sarah Ramsey (far left) Director of Health at ASDA.

It was a remarkable achievement for the defending champion duo of Dave Johnson and Anna Glowinski plus their amateur rider teammates.

But it wasn't all plain sailing for the Cambridgeshire based team. They managed to win the overall Series Champions title by topping the Olympic style team medal table at the end of the 7 round series. Their six golds, six silvers and four bronze medals, won throughout the campaign by their Pro and Amateur riders, was just enough to deny Gloucestershire based Team Cycleguard the top spot.

Cycleguard had scored five golds, three silvers and six bronze medals securing them second in the Series ahead of Team ProCook.

For the other team competitions it was also a close competition. Quella clinched the Most Catches Trophy on the night scoring just two more than their nearest rivals Team ProCook over the course of the Series. Quella 29, ProCook 27, Cycleguard 24.

It was closer still in the Most Wins Trophy with Quella topping the table with 50 individual race wins to Cycleguard's 49 and ProCook's 41.

Series Director Carl Thompson commented "Its a great achievement for the Team. The Series creates opportunities for amateur riders to shine and make a real difference to the outcome. They certainly did for Team Quella complimenting the amazing performances of Dave and Anna by winning races and scoring catches for the team throughout the regional rounds and the SuperFinal. The closeness of the end results shows that every one of the 180 races in the Series really did matter."
